TWO WORLDS: ALO & CROSS

A young Dayak of the Salako tribe embraces his cultural roots wearing a rare hornbill headgear on his way to church. The first Evangelists from Netherlands came to Kalimantan in 1805. Since then, the Salakos have embraced Christianity,  adopting it into much of their daily life- often times clashing with their cultural identity and old beliefs.
